Responsibilities
-
Assist licensed staff in administering non-parental medication, including controlled substances.

Administer treatments as prescribed by physicians in accordance with facility policies.

Function as a nursing assistant when instructed to do so by the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager.

Complete administrative work as required.

Maintain knowledge of equipment set-up, maintenance, and use.
-
Report observations to licensed personnel.

Maintain resident care supplies, equipment, and environment.
-
Maintain general knowledge of the effects and side effects of drugs commonly used and those they are permitted to administer and principles, procedures and practices regarding drug administration.

Sign for all oral and topical medications she/he has administered.

Assist with the provision of the care to residents
Qualifications
-
Current Active State Certification CNA and CMA
-
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
-
Knowledge of relevant nursing care
-
Friendly and professional bedside manner
-
Maintain current CPR certification
-
Multi-tasking skills
-
Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills
-
Understands legal implications of patient care
