Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Mason to oversee and coordinate masonry projects on construction sites. As a Lead Mason, you will be responsible for guiding a team of masons, interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and ensuring that all masonry work meets safety standards, quality expectations, and project deadlines. Your expertise in concrete, stone masonry, bricklaying, and related construction techniques will be essential in delivering exceptional craftsmanship for a variety of building and restoration projects. Duties
- Lead and supervise masonry crews, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide masonry installation and building material placement
- Oversee the preparation of surfaces, including concrete forming, rebar installation, and scaffold building to support masonry work
- Execute precise concrete finishing, plastering, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, and tile laying as required by project scope
- Manage the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and construction equipment to ensure efficient workflow
- Conduct quality inspections of masonry work such as bricklaying, stone masonry, concrete masonry units (CMUs), and restoration tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all phases of construction site activities and maintain accurate documentation of work progress
Experience
- Proven experience in concrete masonry work with a strong understanding of building material installation techniques
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation of technical specifications for various masonry projects
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team in construction estimating, renovation projects, or restoration efforts involving masonry or heavy construction
- Hands-on experience with rebar installation, metal stud framing, roof framing, framing carpentry, and heavy equipment operation preferred
- Familiarity with mortar work processes including mixing, application, and troubleshooting for durable results
- Prior involvement in construction site management with an emphasis on safety protocol adherence and quality assurance
- Strong background in using hand tools and power tools for tasks such as stone cutting, tile laying, caulking applications, and trim carpentry
