Overview
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER), Saint Louis, Missouri. Travel - temporary assignment starting 07/27/2026 for weeks with nights on a 3x12 schedule. Weekly pay: $1,957–$2,058. Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12s). This ER operates within a 38-bed unit that handles a broad range of patient types, including pediatrics and a separate psych area, and sees roughly 127 visits per day. The role requires an active RN license (MO state licensure or compact license; pending license accepted per posting), minimum 2 years of ER experience, and current ACLS, BCLS (BLS), NIHSS, and PALS certs. First-time travelers are not accepted. Epic is used for charting, with free parking on site. Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible per radius requirements. The unit supports clinical care across triage, critical care, and general ED needs, with on-site access to Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Interpretation Services, and Unit Secretary support.

Responsibilities
- Perform initial triage assessment and prioritize care based on patient acuity
- Provide direct patient care in the ER, including airway management, 12-lead EKGs, rhythm interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
- Initiate IV access, administer IV fluids and vasopressors, and manage blood product administration
- Support ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP and monitoring; participate in procedural sedations as needed
- Monitor and manage patients with sepsis, STEMI, stroke, or other critical conditions; coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (Epic); communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in the United States; MO state licensure or compact license; pending license accepted per posting
- Minimum 2 years RN ER experience; prior ER exposure implied; charge nurse experience not required
- Certifications: ACLS, BCLS (BLS), NIHSS, PALS; CPI and TNCC preferred
- Education: Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing (as required for RN practice)
- Ability to work in an ER setting with all ages (neonates through geriatrics) and in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with EPIC or similar EHR systems; ability to follow unit protocols and patient safety standards
- Must meet pre-start requirements (labs completed within 48–72 hours; WorkRamp modules started within 1 week of contract and completed 2 Fridays prior to start)
