Founding Head of Engineering — MyMediFile
About the role
Health information is scattered across portals, faxes, and PDFs — and it fails patients
and providers at the moments that matter most. MyMediFile is a patient-controlled
health records platform that turns that scattered history into a structured, provider-
ready summary before a visit begins.
We’re founder-led, with a working platform already in production and early paying
customers, and we’re building out the team behind it. We’re hiring a Founding Head of
Engineering to own and lead engineering as we scale.
This is a founding-team leadership role, not a senior-developer seat. You’ll own the
technical organization end to end and turn product vision into a secure, scalable,
reliable platform.
Responsibilities
-Own engineering execution end to end, from roadmap to release
-Lead architecture and scalability decisions for a platform handling sensitive patient
data
-Own security and infrastructure with a security-first posture
-Set development standards, code quality, and engineering process
-Recruit, mentor, and lead the engineering team
-Manage release planning and delivery
-Translate product vision into a shipped, dependable platform
Qualifications
-Startup experience (seed or Series A)
-Built a SaaS platform from MVP to scale
-Strong cloud architecture experience (AWS or GCP)
-Proficiency in a modern web stack: Next.js / React / TypeScript
-Security-first engineering mindset
-Proven engineering leadership — recruiting, mentoring, raising a team’s bar
-Comfortable working directly with a founder in a fast-moving, early-stage
environment
-US-based and authorized to work in the United States (this role is not open to
international candidates)
-Preferred (not required): healthcare or health-data experience (HIPAA, PHI,
EHR/EMR, interoperability).
What we offer
-Founding-team equity with a standard vesting schedule
-Competitive salary, $150,000–$190,000 depending on experience
