Rayaf Health is an independent outpatient OB/GYN and women's health clinic seeking an experienced, dependable, proactive Medical Front Desk & Insurance Verification Specialist.
We are looking for more than someone to simply answer phones and check patients in. We need a team member who takes ownership of the front desk, pays close attention to insurance and registration details, communicates proactively with patients and clinical staff, and helps keep the clinic running smoothly.
Many of our patients face language, cultural, financial, or healthcare-access barriers. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient, respectful, and comfortable working with a diverse community.

- Ensure the correct and current insurance plan is entered accurately into the patient's chart.
- Obtain and upload clear copies of the front and back of insurance cards and current photo ID.
- Review and update patient demographics and registration information.
- Identify insurance or registration problems before the patient's visit and follow through to help resolve them.
- Help prevent avoidable billing issues and claim denials caused by incomplete or incorrect registration information.
- Call and/or text patients before appointments when insurance information, identification, referrals, or other required information is missing.
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally and promptly.
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments accurately.
- Greet and check patients in and out.
- Communicate closely with nurses, providers, and other team members regarding patient flow and scheduling needs.
- Monitor upcoming appointments and proactively identify missing information or potential problems.
- Maintain an organized and efficient front desk.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Assist with additional administrative duties as the needs of the clinic evolve.
Qualifications
Medical front-desk, patient-registration, or medical receptionist experience is strongly preferred.
We are especially interested in candidates with:
- Experience independently verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Knowledge of Medicaid/Medical Assistance and commercial insurance plans.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize insurance and registration errors.
- Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR/EHR); eClinicalWorks experience is a plus.
- Excellent telephone and patient communication skills.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy medical office.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
- A proactive work style—you see what needs to be done and follow through.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn additional responsibilities.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Compassion and patience when working with patients who may experience language, cultural, financial, or healthcare-access barriers.
