Participates in fire suppression, rescue activities, and prevention in protecting life, property, and the general environment, and provides first-responder medical assistance at medical emergencies. Inspects and performs routine maintenance on rescue equipment, fire apparatus, hydrants, hoses and other support equipment; participates in continuous training in fire suppression, prevention, inspection, hazmat through both simulated and on-the-job exercises.
