Benefits Specialist – Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic
We are seeking an organized, customer-service–focused Benefits Specialist to join our outpatient physical therapy team.
Responsibilities:
- Benefit Insurance verification: Direct communication with insurance company to obtain patient eligibility and benefits. Calling for both PPO and HMO plans. Prior Auth determination and coordinate with insurance companies on correct processing protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with front office, billing department, therapists, PTAs, and management to ensure seamless clinic operations and continuity of care.
- Problem-Solving: Address issues related to insurance changes.
- Compliance: Ensure all patient information is handled according to HIPAA regulations and clinic policies.
- Customer Service: Maintain a welcoming, professional environment for patients and visitors; promptly address patient inquiries, concerns, and service needs.
Qualifications Include:
- Minimum of 2 years of Insurance Verification and Authorization submitting experience.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes required.
- Knowledge with HMO, PPO's and insurance portals.
- Previous experience in a medical office, preferably in physical therapy or another outpatient healthcare setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, billing basics, and medical terminology preferred.
- Being efficient, organized and resourceful
- Bilingual preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
