Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Periodontic and Prosthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of periodontal and prosthodontic procedures, with a strong background in assisting during complex dental treatments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence by providing exceptional chairside assistance, maintaining clinical standards, and supporting the overall workflow within a specialized dental practice. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in dental assisting techniques, familiarity with dental software systems, and a commitment to infection control and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in periodontal procedures (e.g., osseous surgery, extractions, surgical therapies, implant placement)
- Assist in prosthodontic procedures (e.g., crowns, bridges, dentures, implant restorations)
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms for specialty procedures
- Take and process dental radiographs, including CBCT
- Review and update patient medical and dental histories
- Provide chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene specific to periodontal and prosthetic treatments
- Manage clinical inventory and ensure operatories are fully stocked
- Support patient flow, scheduling, and follow-up communications
Requirements
- Proven experience as a dental assistant within a periodontal or prosthodontic specialty practice.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Denticon.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.
- Excellent understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental coding practices.
- Experience with chairside assisting across multiple disciplines including prosthodontics, oral surgery, and general dentistry.
- Familiarity with medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners; ability to support medical documentation processes is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Spanish speaking is a plus!

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour

- General Dentistry: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) (Preferred)
