EXCEL Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Scaffold Builder to join our team. As a Scaffold Builder, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, and dismantling of scaffolding structures on construction sites. You will be responsible for building and breaking down scaffolds, installing ladders, walkways and handrails at an industrial construction site using a variety of power tools and lifts. You will ensure that scaffolding meets safety standards and project requirements, providing secure and reliable platforms for construction and maintenance activities.
This is a long-term maintenance position. Candidates must be seeking stable, ongoing employment and should be committed to long-term work with the company. This role is not intended for short-term or temporary assignment seekers. Per diem is not provided for this position. Candidates must be comfortable working without per diem and should be able to meet their own daily living and travel expenses as applicable.
Responsibilities:

Assemble and disassemble various types of scaffolding structures according to project specifications and safety guidelines.

Regularly inspect scaffolding materials and equipment for damage or wear, and perform necessary maintenance or repairs.

Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

Interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine the required scaffolding structure and dimensions.

Work closely with construction crews and supervisors to coordinate scaffold placement and ensure project timelines are met.

Address and resolve any issues related to scaffolding promptly to avoid project delays.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a scaffold builder or in a related role. Certification in scaffold erection is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of scaffolding techniques and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints.

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure all scaffolding structures are correctly assembled and secure.

Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and other construction professionals.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant vocational training or certification in scaffolding is a plus.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms safely.
- Comfortable working at heights while using required fall protection equipment.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and on uneven terrain.
- Must have sufficient balance, coordination, and manual dexterity to safely assemble and dismantle scaffolding components.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks using hand and power tools.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and fall protection harnesses.
- Must have adequate vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing to safely perform job duties and recognize potential hazards.
- Ability to work extended shifts, overtime, weekends, and travel to various job sites as needed.
