Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs
-Work with individuals with behavioral needs.
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication and other health related activities as needed
- Implement individualized care plans and support goals for each individual
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Provide transportation for individuals to appointments, activities, or community outings
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for individuals in assisted living or residential settings
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of individuals
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in a similar role is preferred. Training on the job available.
- Knowledge of systems and procedures related to patient care and safety
- Ability to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting or physical exertion as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals in senior care, hospice care, or other healthcare settings
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
-High school diploma or GED preferred
