POSTION EXPECTATIONSThe Fire Prevention Technician assists the Safety and Fire Prevention Section in reducing or eliminating risk to the building and occupants. This position identifies and eliminated hazards using relevant Authority policies, documents, fire codes, building codes and safety regulations.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspects show areas, exhibits, lobby and meeting rooms for hazards and code violations. Documents and takes steps to correct violations. Issues Hot Work permits for any work producing sparks or open flame not associated with show exhibits, including contractor work, Authority ambassador work and how work conducted during show move-in and move-out. Registers, inspects, documents, maintains records, collects and delivers fees of all LVCVA bicycles and carts used on the property by decorators and EACs. Conducts monthly visual inspections of the fire extinguishers and fire sprinkler risers. Inspects fire extinguishers monthly to verify that annual extinguisher service has not expired and that extinguishers are charged and functional. Inspects sprinkler riser valves to verify building fire sprinkler systems are functioning. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
