Overview
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Associate Director for our Early Childhood Learning Center who is committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education in a supportive and inclusive environment. This vital leadership role involves supporting the Center Director in daily operations, staff development, family engagement and compliance with NJ state regulations, to ensure high-quality educational programming, and fostering a nurturing environment for young children. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of childcare experience, management expertise, and a passion for early childhood development to support our mission of empowering families through quality education and care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Center Director in the overall management of daily operations, including enrollment, scheduling, budgeting and facilities maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (NJ Department of Children and Families, U.S. Department of Education, local health and safety codes) and internal policies.
- Support curriculum development and implementtion to ensure developmentally age appropriate practice for children ages three to five.
- Provide mentorship and ensure proper staff-to-child ratios and coverage in compliance with licensing standards. p
- Manage administrative functions including budgeting, staffing schedules, and compliance with licensing regulations and legal requirements related to early childhood education.
- Collaborate with staff to evaluate practices and ensure continuous improvement in classroom quality.
- Develop and implement family engagement activities, parent power-hour education nights, and volunteer opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to all school policies, safety protocols, and legal standards and school administrative regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in an early childhood setting ad 2-3 years classroom experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of NJ licensing requirements, Early Head Start standards and best practices in early childhood education required.
- Strong background in school administration, including budgeting, personnel management, and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication skills, staff supervision, and community outreach.
- Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and work collaboratively with staff, families and community partners.
- Other requirements: Ability to lift 35+lbs., bend, stoop, sit on the floor and stand for extended periods.
