Job Description:
The Mohs Histotechnician prepares tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnostic interpretation for busy Mohs surgery practice. The technician must adhere to the appropriate protocols, procedures, and quality control measures. Additional clinical duties may be assigned to persons employed in this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Practice Manager.
- Perform tissue processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and coverslipping
- Accession specimens
- Perform cutting of control slides
- Match slides with requisitions, double checking for accuracy
- Perform tasks relating to troubleshooting and quality control as required
- May perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by management
- Maintain CLIA logs and procedure manual
- Order lab supplies
Qualifications:
- Preferred two year of Mohs Histotechnician experience
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Start time of 8AM and leave once Mohs cases are complete (typically around 3PM)
