About Us Fixins is a high-volume, fast-paced breakfast and lunch destination. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent food, utilizing great local ingredients, and providing top-tier hospitality to every guest. To keep our dining room running flawlessly, we rely on a strong support team. We are currently hiring energetic individuals to fill two distinct roles or one to work in both roles on our floor: Food Runners and Bussers.
Which Role is Right for You? While both positions require hustle and a team-first attitude, their primary daily responsibilities are different. Please let us know which position you are most interested in when you apply!
1. The Food Runner
Our Food Runners are the vital link between the kitchen and the dining room. Your main focus is ensuring every dish leaves the kitchen looking perfect and reaches the guest while it's hot and fresh.
- Precision Delivery: Run food from the kitchen window to the correct tables efficiently.
- Quality Control: Visually inspect plates and match them accurately to tickets before they reach the guest.
- Communication: Act as a messenger between the kitchen line and the serving staff regarding ticket times and missing items.
2. The Busser
Our Bussers are the engines that keep the dining room turning. Your main focus is maintaining the flow of seating by rapidly turning over tables so our guests never have to wait long.
- Rapid Reset: Clear, sanitize, and reset tables quickly and thoroughly the moment guests depart.
- Floor Support: Pre-bus tables while guests are still seated (clearing empty plates/glasses) to keep their space tidy.
- Station Maintenance: Keep side stations fully stocked with ice, silverware, napkins, and condiments throughout the morning and lunch rushes.
What We’re Looking For (Both Roles)
- High Energy & Stamina: You will be on your feet, moving quickly, and carrying trays or bus tubs for the duration of your 6-8 hour shift.
- Team Player: A strong sense of teamwork and the willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
- Grace Under Pressure: The ability to stay focused, positive, and efficient when the restaurant is at maximum capacity.
- Availability: Must be available for morning and early afternoon shifts, including weekends.
- RELIABILITY: MUST be reliable and on time to work when scheduled. A great day at work starts with being on time and showing up when scheduled.
- Experience: We prefer experienced people with a positive attitude and willingness to work hard and perform the duties expected of them. However, attitude is everything and we will train people with the right attitude and work ethic.
