Dance Instructor — Part-Time

A Step Above Dance Studio is seeking a dependable, positive and enthusiastic Dance Instructor to join our team for the 2026–2027 season.
We are looking for more than a talented dancer. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, communicates well, follows through on commitments and wants to be part of a supportive, team-focused studio environment.
Dance and/or teaching experience is preferred, but we are willing to train and invest in the right person.

Experience in dance, education, childcare, gymnastics, cheer, theater, coaching, recreation or other youth programming may be beneficial.
Responsibilities
Depending on experience and training, responsibilities may include:
● Teaching recreational dance classes
● Creating a positive and engaging classroom environment
● Following studio curriculum and lesson plans
● Managing classroom behavior in an age-appropriate way
● Communicating professionally with students, families and staff
● Preparing students for performances and studio events
● Participating in staff training and professional development
● Assisting with select studio events throughout the season
● Representing A Step Above’s mission and values inside and outside the classroom
Schedule
This is a part-time, primarily evening position.
Candidates should have open availability:
Monday–Thursday | approximately 4:30–9:00 PM
Some weekend availability will also be required for performances, events, rehearsals and other studio activities.
Our 2026–2027 season begins September 8, 2026.
Training & Development
We are willing to invest in the right person.
Depending on previous experience, a new instructor may begin by observing classes and working alongside experienced instructors before gradually taking on additional teaching responsibilities.
Training, curriculum, mentorship and ongoing feedback will be provided.
We aren’t simply looking to fill classes. We’re looking for someone who could become a long-term member of our team.
