Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals and families through various challenges, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and assistance. This position requires a strong background in social work, legal matters, and behavioral health, with a focus on community resources and crisis management. The Case Worker will work collaboratively with guests to develop effective intervention strategies and support systems.
Duties
- Conduct assessments to identify guest needs and develop individualized service plans.
- Provide support and guidance to individuals/families navigating complex situations related to homelessness.
- Apply for and appeal social security disability cases
- Engage in crisis intervention and management to address immediate guest needs.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower guests toward positive change.
- Collaborate with community resources to ensure comprehensive support.
- Maintain accurate documentation of case notes, progress reports, and service plans.
- Advocate for guests' rights and access to necessary services within the community.
- As part of the team, contribute to the smooth management and operations of a bustling day center.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in family law, social work, or behavioral health settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of homelessness and relevant resources highly desirable.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and management.
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing trauma.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.
