Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within diverse clinical settings. Duties
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting with procedures across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency medicine settings.
- Conduct patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and verifying insurance information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and hospital protocols to ensure precise documentation and communication.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Uphold safety standards including Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and adherence to infection control guidelines in all clinical tasks.
Experience
- Prior experience working medical clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or emergency departments is highly desirable.
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medication administration, ICD coding, and medical-surgical practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and data management is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient assessments and treatments.
- Previous roles involving intake procedures, vital signs collection, or assisting in OR (Operating Room) settings will be considered advantageous.
