Job Overview:
Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of general freight using a cargo van. Duties include picking up, loading, transporting, and delivering goods to designated locations while following delivery schedules and maintaining excellent customer service. Drivers are expected to inspect cargo, secure loads properly, plan efficient routes, maintain delivery records, and ensure the vehicle is operated safely and kept in good condition. Freight may include packages, retail goods, auto parts, medical supplies, or other non-hazardous shipments. Reliability, time management, and attention to detail are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver general freight on schedule
- Load, secure, and unload cargo safely
- Plan routes for efficient deliveries
- Complete delivery confirmations
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Follow DOT/company regulations and safety procedures
- Provide professional customer service at pickup and drop-off points
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Cargo van or Box truck
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift and move freight (weight varies)
- Knowledge of navigation/GPS and route planning
- Experience in courier, expediting, or freight delivery prefer
Pay: $200.00 - $400.00 per day
