American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Charge Nurse position in a Med/Surg Adult unit, requiring 3+ years of nursing experience and working night shifts every other weekend.

Adult Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
-
Charge Nurse role coordinating patient care across multiple departments including Acute Care, Birthing Center, Cancer, Wound and Infusion, Emergency Department, and Surgery

Night shifts: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (12-hour rotation)

Every other weekend required

Holiday rotation as needed

13-week contract

Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire

TNCC encouraged but not required
-
Minimum 3 years of RN experience required

Two-year nursing degree required; BSN preferred

DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Serves as a nursing resource and liaison across hospital departments, administration, patients, and visitors

Conducts daily rounding across departments to assess and coordinate patient transfers
-
Mentors staff and holds team members accountable for safe, competent, and quality practice

Assists with after-hours pharmacy needs and proper patient placement for Acute Care admissions
-
Responsible for activation and management of Incident Command in a Mass Casualty Incident

Coordinates cross-departmental staffing needs as required
