Join our esteemed Radiology Department as a Breast Imaging Fellow for the 2027-2028 academic year! This paid fellowship offers a unique opportunity to develop specialized expertise in breast imaging modalities, including mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and interventional procedures. You will work closely with experienced radiologists in a dynamic clinical environment, gaining comprehensive training in diagnostic and interventional breast imaging techniques. Duties
- Perform and interpret a wide range of breast imaging studies including mammography, ultrasound, MRI.
- Conduct image-guided biopsies and minimally invasive procedures such as needle localizations and cyst aspirations with precision and aseptic technique.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic and EMR platforms to document findings accurately and efficiently.
- Operate advanced medical imaging equipment including MRI scanners, fluoroscopy units, PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), and other diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive patient management plans based on imaging results.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to radiation exposure, sterile procedures, and patient confidentiality.
- Participate in educational conferences, case reviews, and quality assurance activities to enhance learning and maintain high standards of care.
Skills
- Proficiency in MRI techniques with an understanding of physiology relevant to breast tissue imaging.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to radiology and breast pathology.
- Familiarity with PACS systems for image storage and retrieval; adept at managing electronic health records (EHR) including Epic or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of anatomy specific to the breast region as well as general diagnostic radiology principles.
- Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures including biopsies under ultrasound or stereotactic guidance.
- Ability to apply aseptic techniques during invasive procedures while maintaining patient safety.
- Experience working within hospital settings with exposure to hospital experience requirements such as fluoroscopy use and nuclear medicine procedures.
