Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify demographic and insurance information, and assist with check-in/check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Schedule appointments efficiently and coordinate follow-up visits, referrals, and procedures.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations for medical and vision plans, including Medicare.
- Collect copayments and outstanding balances while following billing procedures and compliance guidelines.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring timely updates and proper documentation within the EHR system.
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally and assist with questions regarding appointments, services, and billing.
- Support new patient intake by collecting medical history forms and required documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
- Perform general front desk and clerical duties including filing, scanning, data entry, and supply management.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow and timely service.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, billing processes, and coding (ICD-10/CPT) preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems and administrative tasks preferred.
