Glen Rose Medical Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Materials Management to lead our hospital's purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain operations. This leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring clinicians have the supplies and equipment they need while maintaining financial stewardship and operational efficiency.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Materials Management is responsible for overseeing purchasing, inventory control, receiving, distribution, vendor relationships, contract compliance, and supply chain optimization across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities
· Provide leadership and oversight for all Materials Management operations.
· Supervise and develop Materials Management staff through coaching, training, scheduling, and performance management.
· Oversee purchasing of medical and non-medical supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
· Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts.
· Collaborate with department leaders to standardize products, evaluate new products, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
· Develop and manage the departmental operating budget in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer.
· Monitor inventory accuracy, supply utilization, purchasing trends, and key performance indicators.
· Ensure compliance with CMS, The Joint Commission, OSHA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
· Lead inventory control activities, including perpetual inventory, physical inventories, and emergency supply planning.
· Participate in hospital performance improvement initiatives and promote continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
Required
· High school diploma or GED.
· Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare materials management, purchasing, or supply chain.
· Experience with healthcare purchasing and inventory management systems.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
· Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
Preferred
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
· Experience managing hospital budgets and supply expense.
· Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including CMS and The Joint Commission.
· Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and value analysis initiatives.
