Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated 2nd Shift Welder to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing high-quality welding operations on various metal components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will bring strong fabrication skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience working on construction sites or in manufacturing environments. Duties
- Execute MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding techniques on sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and structural components according to blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and plasma cutters to prepare materials for welding and assembly.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as press brake machines and pipe threading tools to shape and assemble metal parts.
- Perform rigging and crane operations safely to position heavy materials during welding processes.
- Maintain strict adherence to ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels and structural welds.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to verify dimensions.
- Support construction site activities by fabricating ductwork, assembling components, or assisting with site-specific welding tasks.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling machinery like forklifts or machining tools.
- Assist in the fabrication of mechanical assemblies, pipe systems, or structural frameworks as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities involving welding operations.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW welding techniques; experience with <LOCATION> welding preferred.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes including plasma cutting, press brake operation, and sheet metal work.
- Familiarity with rigging, crane operation, pipe threading, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to interpret schematics and adhere to ASME codes & standards for quality assurance.
- Experience working with ductwork or structural steel fabrication is advantageous.
- Valid certification in welding (such as AWS certification) is preferred but not mandatory.
