Understands normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.
Able to set up intravenous fluids.
Administers subcutaneous fluids.
Can operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
Discharge and intake surgery patients to and from the hospital, including basic client education. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
Perform call backs and refill medications
Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the clinician
