Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Turnaround Scheduler to support a major turnaround project at an industrial facility in La Porte, Texas. The Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating the turnaround schedule using SAP and Microsoft Project, ensuring all work activities are accurately sequenced, resource-loaded, and aligned with project milestones.
This role works closely with project management, planners, operations, contractors, and field supervision to track progress, identify schedule risks, and support the successful execution of the turnaround while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality. Industrial turnaround schedulers commonly develop baseline schedules, perform critical path analysis, track progress, and provide schedule recovery recommendations throughout execution.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the master turnaround schedule in SAP and Microsoft Project.
- Create logic-driven schedules with appropriate task dependencies and milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers, planners, supervisors, and contractors to ensure schedule accuracy.
- Monitor daily progress and update schedules based on field conditions.
- Identify critical path activities and communicate schedule impacts.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and milestone updates.
- Assist with manpower planning and resource leveling.
- Recommend schedule recovery plans when delays occur.
- Participate in planning meetings, daily execution meetings, and schedule review sessions.
- Verify schedule data integrity and ensure documentation is current.
- Support project closeout by developing as-built schedules and documenting schedule performance.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of scheduling experience in industrial construction, maintenance, shutdowns, or turnaround projects.
- Previous refinery, petrochemical, chemical plant, or heavy industrial experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Project is required.
- Strong understanding of scheduling logic, critical path methodology (CPM), and resource planning.
- Ability to interpret work packages, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting refinery or petrochemical turnaround events.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance planning processes.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and industrial site safety practices.
- TWIC Card (preferred or ability to obtain if required by the site).
Work Environment
- Onsite at an industrial facility in La Porte, TX.
- Combination of office and field work.
- Frequent interaction with construction personnel and contractors.
- Must be able to walk industrial facilities, climb stairs, and wear required PPE.
Schedule
- 10-week temporary assignment
- 5 days per week / 10-hour shifts (5/10 schedule)
- Overtime may be available based on project needs.
Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
