General Maintenance Lead
Pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour
Job description:
The General Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, performing skilled repair work, and overseeing maintenance staff. This position prioritizes work assignments, coordinates preventive maintenance, performs frequent facilities inspections, operations reports, and provides hands-on support to ensure efficiency and quality of all maintenance activities. The position also requires daily interaction and communication with clients.
Requirements:
· Lead, train, and oversee maintenance staff, assigning and monitoring daily tasks.
· Perform and oversee repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other systems.
· Monitor work orders and ensure timely completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
· Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and recommend corrective actions.
· Ability to expertly use hand and power tools.
· Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving furniture, carrying a ladder, and lifting up to 50lbs
· Proven experience using a CMMS (work order) application
· Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; submit requests for replacements or purchases as needed.
· Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly, delegating or performing work directly.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
· 5+ years of maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory, assistant or lead role.
· Overall knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical).
· Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
· Experience drafting and submitting facilities operations reports.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
· Working knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
· Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as required.
· Strong computer skills including using and managing a work order system
· Excellent customer and communication skills
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
· Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work
