Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our accounting practices. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while supporting the company's strategic growth initiatives. This role requires a proactive approach to financial analysis, compliance, and process improvement within a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the leadership team, you will drive financial excellence and foster a culture of accountability and transparency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Accounting Department.
- Responsible for detailed preparation of budgets, forecasts and monthly financial statements.
- Prepares detailed costing information for labor quoting rates.
- Prepares daily cash reports, borrowing requests and debt summaries .
- Coordinates tax and insurance matters with CPA firm and insurance agent.
- Coordinates all financial audits to include outside CPA and government auditors.
- Prepares special reports as requested by the president and/or Board of Directors.
- Directs preparation of new management information reports.
- Prepares and assists in preparing progress billings to customers.
- Responsible for the financial integrity for long term contracts.
- Prepares journal entries and detail account analysis to support General and factory Ledgers.
- Maintains corporate chart of accounts.
- Verifies payroll calculation to support bi-weekly draw.
- reconciles monthly WIP report.
- Prepares monthly production cost statement to isolate allowable costs for progress billings.
- Deposits cash receipts at local bank.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader.
- Ability to maintain Department of Energy Level L Clearance.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or at least 7 years in accounting.
- Computer skills.
- Preferable CPA designated(not required).
- Ability to manage others well.
