TriSource Staffing Solutions is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join an educational team located in Hunt Valley, MD to implement specialized educational programs and provide tailored instructional services.
In this role, you will instruct and supervise small groups of students (approximately 9 per class), design custom curricula that fit individual learning styles, and foster a safe, motivating environment to help students thrive academically and socially.
**This will be working directly with high school and middle school aged students.
Pay Rate: $40 per hours or $85k yearly
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8a-4p (excludes holidays)
Responsibilities:
- Instruction & Adaptation: Provide direct group and individual instruction in core subjects (English, math, science, social studies) and electives. Utilize academic performance, learning styles, and clinical data to adapt lesson plans to each student's unique needs.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, stimulating, and motivating learning environment. Manage student behaviors in the classroom and during school-sponsored functions, providing crisis intervention when necessary.
- IEP Management: Provide services specified in students' IEPs. Prepare periodic evaluations, report significant behavioral or academic changes, and recommend plan modifications.
- Leadership & Supervision: Directly supervise classroom staff. Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and managing staff development through our learning management system.
- Collaboration: Participate as an active member of the Treatment Team. Keep the Principal informed of relevant situations and communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Compliance & Admin: Ensure timely completion of daily attendance records, grades, behavioral logs, and emergency lesson plans. Maintain quality improvement goals and uphold all state, federal, and company regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Required).
- Licensure: MSDE Teaching License
- Experience: At least 1 year of teaching experience in special education is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; basic math fundamentals; ability to interpret data and navigate standardized situations with occasional variables.
