Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of precision machining and fabrication processes, with the ability to create and repair tools, dies, and fixtures used in manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in tool and die production.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery such as lathes, CNC machines, and welding equipment to fabricate components.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to fabricate tools and dies according to specifications.
- Operate milling machines and lathes for the production of high-quality components.
- Perform welding tasks as necessary for tool assembly and repair.
- Engage in CAM programming to optimize machining processes and enhance productivity.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop new tooling solutions for manufacturing challenges.
- Apply math skills for precise calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and material properties.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating milling machines, lathes and other related equipment.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with CAM programming is highly desirable.
- Solid math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
