Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Older Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of childhood development and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. As a teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of children aged 6 weeks to 12 years of age, ensuring their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Duties
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, promoting social skills and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to support children with special needs or disabilities.
- Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness while ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles.
- Experience in classroom management and creating engaging learning environments.
- Proficiency in first aid and CPR techniques.
- Familiarity with toddler care practices, including infant care when necessary.
- Understanding of special education needs and strategies for working with children with disabilities.
- Background in daycare settings or babysitting experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility in adapting to the needs of the classroom.
