Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator with a strong background in ground-up construction to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in preparing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial projects from initial conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
This role plays a critical part in project acquisition and overall company success.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for ground-up commercial construction projects.
· Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
· Develop conceptual budgets based on historical costs.
· Identify value engineering opportunities.
· Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings.
· Maintain organized bid files and documentation.
· Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and executive leadership.
· Assist in project turnover meetings upon award.
Project Experience Required
Ground-up commercial projects including:
· Office buildings
· Retail centers
· Industrial facilities
· Civil Construction/Infrastructure
· Hospitality
· Tenant improvements
Experience with structural concrete, steel framing, site development, utilities, and MEP coordination is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
· Proven experience in ground-up construction projects.
· Strong knowledge of construction means and methods.
· Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP plans.
· Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, O.S.T., Bluebeam, etc.).
· Strong Excel skills.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
· Experience working for a commercial general contractor.
· Knowledge of local subcontractor market and pricing.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
