Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations
- Drive route-specific deliveries across local areas, managing time efficiently to meet delivery schedules
- Use GPS navigation systems for precise route planning and real-time navigation adjustments
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving within local areas
- Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for efficient route management
- Experience with freight logistics cargo handling and delivery driver responsibilities
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Excellent driving record demonstrating safe driving habits over time
