Middle & High School Teacher

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and student-centered Middle & High School Teacher to provide high-quality instruction within a Christian educational environment. This teacher will be responsible for teaching multiple subject areas across the middle and high school programs while maintaining strong academic expectations, positive classroom culture, and biblical integration.
The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, passionate about working with adolescents, and capable of effectively managing and teaching multiple courses and grade levels.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesMiddle School – Grades 6–8
The teacher will provide instruction in:
- Bible
- English Language Arts (ELA)
- Science
- History/Social Studies
High School – Grades 9–12
The teacher will provide instruction in:
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons for assigned courses.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans and instructional materials in accordance with school expectations.
- Differentiate instruction to meet varying student abilities, learning styles, and academic needs.
- Incorporate reading, writing, critical thinking, research, discussion, and project-based learning across subject areas.
- Utilize technology and other instructional resources appropriately to enhance student learning.
- Maintain an appropriate balance of direct instruction, independent learning, collaborative activities, projects, and assessments.
- Ensure students receive appropriate instruction and support to demonstrate measurable academic growth.
Christian & Biblical Integration
- Teach middle school Bible with biblical accuracy, age-appropriate application, and an emphasis on Christian discipleship.
- Integrate a biblical worldview throughout academic instruction where appropriate.
- Help students understand how faith connects to academics, character, leadership, relationships, and everyday life.
- Model Christian character, integrity, respect, compassion, and professionalism.
- Support the spiritual mission, vision, and culture of the school.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a structured, respectful, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Clearly communicate academic and behavioral expectations.
- Consistently implement school policies, procedures, and disciplinary expectations.
- Encourage student responsibility, accountability, independence, and maturity.
- Maintain appropriate supervision of students throughout the school day and during assigned activities.
Assessment & Student Progress
- Develop and administer assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, presentations, and other assessments.
- Grade student work accurately and within established timelines.
- Maintain current and accurate student grades and academic records.
- Monitor student performance and identify students needing additional academic support.
- Provide intervention, remediation, enrichment, and academic assistance when appropriate.
- Communicate concerns regarding student performance, attendance, behavior, or academic progress to administration and parents/guardians.
Professional Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and remain prepared for all assigned classes and responsibilities.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, school programs, and other required events.
- Collaborate professionally with administration, teachers, staff, students, and families.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, and school information.
- Maintain an organized classroom and properly care for school property, curriculum materials, technology, and resources.
- Participate in school-wide activities, special events, student programs, field trips, and other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working within a growing school environment.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Strong knowledge of English/Language Arts, Science, History/Social Studies, and biblical studies.
- Ability to effectively teach students across multiple grade levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple courses and responsibilities.
- Ability to use educational technology and digital learning platforms.
- Commitment to maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations.
- Commitment to the Christian mission and values of the school.
Preferred
- Previous teaching experience in middle and/or high school.
- Florida teaching certification or eligibility for certification.
- Experience teaching multiple subjects or working in a small private-school environment.
- Experience with differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and technology-integrated instruction.
- Experience working within a Christian school, church, ministry, or faith-based educational environment.

Because this position works with both middle and high school students, the teacher must be able to transition effectively between grade levels, adjust instruction for developmental differences, and maintain accurate planning and grading for multiple courses.
Physical & Additional Requirements
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including standing and walking for portions of the school day, supervising students, operating classroom technology, and participating in normal school activities.
