The CNC Machine Operator position at PlasTech is a key role within our organization. This position reports directly to the General Manager and is a highly valued role driving our continued success. Responsibilities include:
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances
- Operate mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including fundamental mathematical concepts
- Work independently with minimal supervision as part of an efficient team
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to quality production standards and tight tolerance requirements
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations including keeping work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; alerting GM when repairs are needed
- Document actions by completing production and quality logs with accurate secondary operation documentation
- Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to operational objectives
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to General Manager
- Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results)
- Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 pounds around the shop floor
- Perform other duties as assigned by General Manager
