Job Summary
The Dental Office Administrator helps keep the front office organized and provides a friendly, welcoming experience for our patients. This position includes greeting patients, answering phone calls and emails, scheduling and confirming appointments, and helping patients with forms and other paperwork.
The role also includes basic dental insurance and billing tasks, such as verifying insurance benefits, submitting claims, collecting payments, preparing bills, and helping patients with payment arrangements when needed. The Dental Office Administrator will maintain accurate patient records and medical histories while following HIPAA and patient privacy requirements.
You’ll also provide general administrative support to the dentist and dental team, including helping with notes, referrals, and other office paperwork. This is a hands-on office position for someone who is organized, dependable, and enjoys working with patients and a small dental team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education in dental or healthcare administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a dental, medical, or healthcare office is preferred.
- Friendly and professional communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable answering phones, responding to emails, and speaking with patients in person.
- Experience with appointment scheduling and electronic patient records is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail when handling patient records, insurance information, and payments.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Comfortable using computers, email, office software, and dental practice management systems.
- Able to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a busy office.
- Dependable, professional, and willing to work as part of a team.
