A recognized and respected leader in its business sector, this manufacturer in the Burlington/Greensboro area, located close to I-85/40, seeks a Director of Human Resources for its 300+ employee base.

POSITION SUMMARY: This key leadership position is primarily responsible for strategic planning, directing and coordinating human resources activities, policies and programs for the organization. Also provides oversight and management of two HR/PR staff members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Oversight of talent acquisition and onboarding new employees.
· Develops and implements HR policies and monitors for consistency.
· Ensures company remains in compliance with laws and regulations.
· Collaborates with Senior Leadership Team to align HR policies with company’s strategic goals.
· Plans and executes HR functions strategically, such as compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, occupational safety, employee communications and employee relations.
· Develops and manages the budget for the human resources department.
· Collaborates with Department Supervisors to determine headcount budgets and staffing needs.
· Provides assistance and guidance to department supervisors regarding Human Resources issues.
· Collaborates with Department Supervisors on disciplinary and termination processes.
· In collaboration with the Senior Leadership, plans and administers the wage and salary programs.
-Monitors, plans and researches all benefit plans for the organization to ensure the best benefits are being offered at an appropriate price.
· Maintains strict confidentiality of all Human Resources issues and records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o 7+ years years of increasingly responsible HR experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
o Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, HR Management or a related field.
o Professional HR certification preferred; SHRM-CP or SCP, SPHR or PHR
o Superior business acumen in HR strategic planning, organizational development, and as a member of the management team
o Must possess knowledge of human resources functions, employee benefit plans, labor law compliance, wage and hour laws, workers' compensation, as well as best talent acquisition and retention practices.
o Must possess computer literacy and skills such as e-mail, Microsoft Office Suite products. Excellent skills using ADP HRIS is preferred.
o Effective, professional, diplomatic communication skills are required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and possess the ability to present professionally at all times, including group settings as a critical representative of the organization to employees and business associates.
o May be involved in confidential and controversial situations that require tact and patience to avoid friction, obtain cooperation and to influence others. Must use collective leadership influence to bring individuals together in productive ways and establish trust.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
o This job is conducted in an office environment with frequent computer use requiring manual dexterity.
o Must have normal or corrected hearing and vision.
o Responsibilities may occasionally require adjusted work schedules, overtime and weekend hours to meet deadlines.
o Must have valid driver's license and be able to travel locally with reliable transportation.
Must be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
LANGUAGE/COMUNICATION SKILLS:
o Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Conversational proficiency in Spanish is a plus for this position.
o Must have the skill set to create materials and make presentations to professional staff.
