Registered Nurse (RN) – GI/Endoscopy

A respected, community-focused healthcare system is seeking an experienced GI/Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join its growing Endoscopy team. This full-time opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule with no routine weekends, a collaborative procedural environment, competitive compensation, and excellent work-life balance.
The Endoscopy RN provides compassionate, high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures. This role involves pre-procedure assessment, procedural assistance, moderate sedation monitoring, post-anesthesia recovery, patient education, and close collaboration with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary care team.

SHIFT DETAILS
- Monday – Friday
- Five 8-hour day shifts
- No routine weekend rotation
- Weekend on-call rotation only
- Holiday and call responsibilities shared among the team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete comprehensive pre-procedure patient assessments
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, bronchoscopy, and other GI interventions
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation in accordance with hospital policies
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Continuously monitor patient status throughout procedures and recovery
- Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge education
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate electronic medical documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards
REQUIREMENTS
- Active RN license (or eligibility for state licensure)
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS preferred or required per department guidelines
- Previous Endoscopy, GI Lab, PACU, Critical Care, Emergency Department, ICU, or procedural nursing experience preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient education skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced procedural environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
