We are seeking a motivated and dependable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in a unique dual-role position. This full-time opportunity combines hands-on patient care in an industrial setting with WorkSTEPS employment testing services, supporting workforce health, injury prevention, and return-to-work readiness. This role is ideal for a PTA who enjoys variety, independence, and a strong focus on functional outcomes and occupational health.
- Assist in providing onsite physical therapy services to employees in an industrial environment

Implement treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist

Deliver injury prevention programs, ergonomic education, and body mechanics training

Support early intervention initiatives to reduce workplace injuries

Maintain accurate documentation and communication with supervising PT and employer partners
- Perform functional employment testing using the WorkSTEPS system

Evaluate candidates’ physical capabilities in relation to job demands

Ensure standardized, objective, and safe testing procedures

Accurately record and report test results in accordance with program guidelines

Educate candidates on safe work practices and injury prevention
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program

Current PTA license in Michigan (or eligible for licensure)

CPR/BLS certification required

Experience in industrial rehab, occupational health, or functional testing preferred (but not required)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Comfortable working in non-traditional clinical environments
- Familiarity with WorkSTEPS or similar functional capacity evaluation systems

Knowledge of ergonomic principles and injury prevention strategies

Experience with musculoskeletal injuries and return-to-work programs
