Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist customers with product inquiries, offering knowledgeable recommendations and product demos when appropriate
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and organize products to maintain an attractive and accessible sales floor
- Conduct upselling techniques to promote additional products or services that meet customer needs
- Maintain proper phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers over the phone
- Support inventory management by stocking new merchandise and conducting regular stock checks
- Perform cashier duties efficiently while adhering to cash handling procedures and retail math principles
- Schedule: Part-time positions are typically 20–25 hours/week. Full-time hours may be available based on performance and availability.
Experience
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math concepts is advantageous
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling effective communication with a diverse customer base
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail settings can be helpful but is not mandatory
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and excellent phone etiquette are essential for success in this role
