Safety Manager leads safety initiatives across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and state regulations. They develop training, investigate incidents, and collaborate with leadership to reduce injuries and improve safety metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Define, write, and communicate safety program, ensuring continuous improvement.
Drive safety performance across multiple locations without direct authority.
Develop and deliver safety training for drivers, warehouse, and office staff.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommend improvements.
Manage workers compensation claims and coordinate with HR and third parties.
Conduct periodic safety inspections and audits; recommend corrective actions.
Report quarterly and annual OSHA data and maintain regulatory compliance.
Create and publish evacuation and building security plans; support facility security.
Coordinate safety committees and ensure documentation of meetings.
Provide annual safety performance reports to executive leadership.
Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Serve as site contact for agency audits and perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent safety/compliance experience
Minimum 5 years progressive safety and compliance experience
Valid driver’s license
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Willingness to work additional hours to meet deadlines
Experience in injury and accident reporting
Experience in HAZCOM training, tracking, and reporting
Experience in creating and implementing Workplace Safety Programs
Preferred Skills:
Certification in OSHA or equivalent program
Experience in electrical distribution warehousing and logistics
Experience with DOT Fleet Safety and Compliance
