Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring excellent guest relations. This role is essential in providing a positive first impression and smooth dining experience for all patrons. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Handle reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Manage guest inquiries both in person and over the phone with professional phone etiquette
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station
- Assist with guest inquiries regarding menu items, specials, or restaurant policies
- Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless dining experience
Skills
- Previous host/host experience or background in food service preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Experience in hotel or hospitality environments is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of guest services, serving protocols, and hospitality standards
- Professional phone etiquette and guest relations skills
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
