Role: Director, Systems Security

Position Summary
The Director of Security Systems is responsible for overseeing the organization's cybersecurity program, identifying and addressing security risks, and managing day‐to‐day cyber defense operations. This role partners closely with the Vice President of Infrastructure Systems to strengthen security practices, develop and maintain governance frameworks, and assess emerging security solutions. The Director will advise senior leadership on security strategy, long‐term planning, and enterprise risk, while also supporting a nationwide partner network with cybersecurity guidance and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and execute the organization's information security strategy, including related policies, standards, and procedures, in collaboration with infrastructure leadership.
- Oversee ongoing vulnerability identification initiatives and ensure remediation activities are prioritized and completed effectively.
- Manage internal and external security reviews, including audits related to access controls, password standards, endpoint protection, and privileged account management.
- Ensure cybersecurity requirements are embedded into cloud platforms and services, and lead efforts to address cloud-related security gaps and misconfigurations.
- Own and direct the annual IT risk assessment, ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise risk management framework and contributing insights to Board‐level risk discussions.
- Assess and recommend security tools and technologies as organizational needs evolve, coordinating implementation efforts with internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of the organization's cybersecurity capabilities, practices, and maturity.
- Promote awareness and adoption of security best practices across the organization and throughout a multi‐state partner ecosystem.
- Track developments in the cybersecurity vendor and solution landscape, serving as a subject matter expert and primary contact to enhance the organization's security posture.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of professional experience leading or managing cybersecurity programs.
- At least one year of experience supervising, mentoring, or leading team members.
- Proven ability to design and document security policies, standards, and operational procedures.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non‐technical audiences.
Preferred Experience and Certifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft security and device management solutions, including Intune, Defender, and Azure security capabilities.
- Active engagement in the cybersecurity community and possession of relevant professional security certifications are highly desirable.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $133,000.00 per year
