Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Cultivator to join our dynamic agricultural team. Duties
- Assist with planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting crops using hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Support irrigation management by monitoring systems, adjusting water flow, and maintaining irrigation infrastructure
- Help implement integrated pest management strategies to protect plants from pests and diseases
- Maintain greenhouse conditions by regulating temperature, humidity, and lighting systems for optimal plant growth
- Conduct plant identification to ensure proper crop care and weed control
- Assist with landscaping tasks such as lawn care, pruning, mulching, and soil preparation
- Support crop pest management efforts through scouting and applying environmentally friendly treatments when needed
Skills
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and agricultural environmental control systems
- Growing experience in horticulture or farming environments preferred
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot gardening tools and equipment
- Familiarity with hand tools such as shovels, pruners, hoes, and rakes
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and quantities in planting or fertilizing tasks
- Physical strength for heavy lifting, bending, digging, and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Strong plant identification skills to distinguish healthy crops from pests or weeds
- Experience with greenhouse operations, crop pest management, lawn care, landscaping or outdoor farming environments is highly desirable
