Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Electrical Apprentice to support the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of Energy Storage Systems (ESS), solar equipment, and related electrical infrastructure. This position works under the direction of a licensed Electrician and provides hands-on experience in the rapidly growing renewable energy industry. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and interested in building a long-term career in the electrical trade.
Responsibilities
- Assist Electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment..
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings under supervision.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems and identifying potential issues.
- Assist with rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, including mounting systems, module placement, wire management, and equipment staging.
- Safely access and work on residential and commercial rooftops while adhering to all company safety policies, fall protection requirements, and OSHA standards.
- Support the installation of solar racking, modules, conduit, and associated electrical equipment under the supervision of a qualified Electrician or Lead Electrician.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain organized and clean job sites while following company safety standards.
- Assist with material handling, equipment staging, and inventory management.
- Participate in project commissioning activities and documentation efforts.
- Learn and apply National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and industry best practices.
- Travel as required to support projects throughout the United States.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic knowledge of construction practices and jobsite safety.
- Ability to learn electrical concepts and technical skills in a hands-on environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules based on project needs.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous construction, electrical, solar, or ESS experience.
- Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring methods.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, including attics and crawl spaces.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work comfortably on residential and commercial rooftops with varying roof pitches and heights.
- Ability to safely utilize fall protection equipment and work at elevated heights for extended periods.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in a construction environment.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
