Job Description:
Nuvueu Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetics Center is an elite, private plastic surgery practice located in Fairfield, CT. We are seeking a professional, highly skilled, and dependable Per-Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.
This is an as-needed, per-diem (1099) position specifically for scheduled surgical day cases (primarily Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays). This position offers excellent flexibility for hospital, ICU, or PACU nurses looking for premium, low-stress day shifts with no weekend, holiday, or night/call obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intraoperative & Recovery Care: Provide office-based nursing care in strict collaboration with the surgeon during and after outpatient surgical procedures. Assist the surgeon during operations, maintain a flawless sterile environment, and document accurate intraoperative and postoperative assessments.
- Patient Education & Flow: Deliver comprehensive preoperative and postoperative education to patients and their families. Efficiently manage wound care, in-office procedures, and postoperative follow-up tasks.
- Clinical Triage: Triage patient telephone inquiries and display the ability to initiate appropriate, prompt nursing interventions under minimal supervision.
- OR Operations: Inspect surgical facilities to maintain absolute hygiene and safety protocols (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces). Monitor, stock, and organize essential operating room supplies and inventory.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Active, unrestricted State of Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Current BLS / CPR Certification.
- Proven experience as a Registered Nurse; background in surgical nursing, PACU, ICU, medical/surgical, or plastic surgery/dermatology workflows is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of outpatient health and safety guidelines (sanitation, sterilization, and decontamination procedures).
- Outstanding organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills with a compassionate, professional demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, take direction seamlessly, and adapt quickly to shifting tasks.
