BRAKE PRESS OPERATOR.
Position Summary:
Mancor-SC is seeking a reliable and skilled Brake Press Operator to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating a brake press to bend, shape, and form metal components according to engineering specifications. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC or manual brake press machines to bend and form metal parts.
- Must be able to interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job orders to determine machine settings and material requirements.
- Use measuring tools (e.g., height gauge, tape measure) to inspect finished parts and ensure they meet specified tolerances.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings during production to maintain part quality.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on machines and report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Maintain clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S and lean manufacturing standards.
- Record production data, including quantities, materials used, and time taken.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating a brake press in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills and ability to use precision measurement tools.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Use of PPE required, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and gloves.
- May require overtime or weekend work depending on production needs.
