Company Overview
Irving Tool and Mfg. Co., Inc. was founded in 1952 to supply the growing fine instrument and electronics industries with precision-made machined parts and sheet metal fabricated components.
We need someone who can read a print, program it from a STEP model, setup the tools/work holding, run the part, and inspect it — without someone looking over their shoulder every five minutes.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in holding tight tolerances, programming the right way, and keeping a shop running efficiently. You’ll program, set up, and run multi-axis CNC mills and/or lathes, working from engineering drawings and STEP models to produce parts that are right the first time.
What You’ll Do
- Program parts from STEP models using Fusion 350 and Mazatrol
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or CNC lathes
- Select tooling, establish work holding, and optimize feeds and speeds for quality and cycle time
- Interpret drawings and use precision measurement instruments to inspect your parts (CMM experience is a plus)
- Troubleshoot toolpath issues, adjust offsets, and make in-process corrections
- Maintain organized, efficient workstations and follow established quality procedures
Who This Role Is For
This isn’t a button-pushing job. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 5+ years of CNC machining experience with direct programming responsibilities
- Can program their own parts and setups in Fusion 350 and Mazatrol
- Works best when given a goal, the tools to get there, and the space to execute
- Prefers doing the work over talking about it
- Keeps their area, their tools, and their processes organized and repeatable
- Holds themselves to a higher standard than anyone else would hold them to
What We Offer
- A shop that values skill, accuracy, and competence
- The autonomy to manage your own setups and programming decisions
- Modern equipment that’s properly maintained
- Competitive pay commensurate with your ability — we pay for precision and speed, not just presence
- Benefits including health insurance, paid time off, and 401K plan
Nice to Have
- Experience with multiple control platforms (Fanuc, Mazak)
- Fixture design or work holding fabrication experience
- Prototype and short-run production background
- Familiarity with a range of materials — aluminum, steel, stainless, copper, plastics, exotics
Schedule
- 10 hour shift, Monday through Thursday
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- 401(k) matching
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Life insurance
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
