Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join our dynamic procurement team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing department by procuring materials, supplies, and equipment needed for daily operations. This position ensures purchase orders are processed accurately, inventory levels are maintained, and deliveries are received on time. The Purchasing Clerk works closely with vendors, warehouse personnel, and internal departments to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods while maintaining accurate purchasing records..
Duties
- Create, process, and track purchase orders for materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment with department managers.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, product availability, order status, and delivery schedules.
- Obtain price quotes and compare vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, and documentation.
- Verify purchase order accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
- Coordinate with receiving personnel to ensure timely receipt of purchased items.
- Follow up on backorders, delayed shipments, and order discrepancies.
- Assist with maintaining approved vendor lists and supplier information.
- Support inventory counts and purchasing audits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
- Prepare purchasing reports and assist with cost analysis when requested.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS or equivalent supply chain management platforms.
- Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, procurement processes, and logistics operations.
- Skilled in vendor communication, negotiation tactics, and vendor relationship management to secure favorable terms.
- Proficient in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, and accounting software relevant to purchasing activities.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies including direct negotiation procurement and contract management.
- Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning), supply chain management principles, e-commerce platforms, and logistics coordination.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
