Maintenance Technician – Tidewater Haven Apartments
Tappahannock, VA
Tidewater Haven Apartments is seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well independently, and is committed to providing quality service to our residents and maintaining our community.
Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform apartment turnovers, including drywall repairs, carpentry, fixture replacement, plumbing repairs, appliance installation, painting touch-ups, caulking, and general maintenance.
- Diagnose and complete general maintenance repairs throughout the property.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
- Maintain the grounds, including mowing, weed eating, trimming, weed control, seasonal cleanup, and weekly playground inspections.
- Assist with contractor coordination and oversee work as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop and work areas.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls.
- May be required to travel to and perform maintenance duties at other properties within the Countryside Service, L.C. portfolio as business needs require.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing, drywall, carpentry, appliance repair, and general apartment maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems for troubleshooting is preferred.
- HVAC certification and/or electrical licensing is a plus but not required.
- Ability to safely lift at least 75 pounds and move appliances, water heaters, and building materials.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Due to the nature of this position, the selected candidate must be able to respond immediately to after-hours emergency calls and arrive at the property within a timeframe that allows emergency situations, such as active water leaks, to be addressed promptly.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
