Fabricator/Welder
Location: Payette, ID (Treasure Valley)
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, with overtime available and occasionally required

Nelson Metal Technology is looking for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team. We build custom equipment, conveyors, platforms, stairs, structural components, and specialty fabrications for customers throughout the Northwest.
This isn't a production welding position. Every project is different, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in building quality work, solving problems, and being part of a team.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate parts and assemblies from shop drawings
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, with MIG welding on mild steel as needed
- Fit, cut, grind, and finish components to meet quality standards
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and dimensions
- Plan and complete projects with minimal supervision
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drill presses, forklifts, and other shop equipment
- Assist with occasional field installation projects, including overnight and out-of-town travel as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work with engineers, project managers, and other fabricators to solve fabrication challenges
What We're Looking For
- At least one year of fabrication and welding experience
- Strong TIG welding skills; MIG welding experience is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Experience fitting, laying out, and assembling custom fabrications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help
- Pride in producing clean, accurate work
- Dependable, self-motivated, and punctual
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work safely in both shop and field environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with stainless steel fabrication
- Experience building conveyors, platforms, stairs, or structural steel
- Forklift experience
- Field installation experience
- Familiarity with common fabrication equipment and layout tools
